PRACTICAL ASSESSMENTS
Practical assessments in Level 1 Horse Care are designed to help learners build confidence, routine and safe working practices around horses and within the yard environment. Learners will take part in a range of hands on activities such as grooming, mucking out, filling hay nets and water buckets, leading horses safely, maintaining tack and equipment, preparing feeds, carrying out health checks and supporting with general stable management tasks. Assessments will focus on working safely, following instructions, using the correct equipment and developing good animal welfare practices.
